As we are approaching the end of 2010, I am looking back on how this year went. And while I will admit, this year was a very rough year not only for me, but for a lot of people, I still have some things that I am thankful for. And that is life.
Many people have suffered a great deal in 2010 with the loss of their homes, their jobs, illness and disease, natural disasters, famine.. but in the end, the year 2010 has proved to be a year of record setting random acts of kindness. And I am so thankful to have such wonderful and giving people in my life.
This year I set up a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project called “The 1st Annual All Smoke No Mirrors Run” I am proud to say that just a small group of people from all over New England joined me to raise money for this cause.
This year, my family had their 3rd annual fundraiser for the Christopher Catanese Childrens Foundation to help raise money to build an orphanage in Haiti, as well as raising money for children who are in need all around the world. And with that, I am thankful to be a part of the acts of kindness that people have shown for our causes.
On Wedensday, December 1st, 2010, I among hundreds, if not thousands of people will make a pledge, and say goodbye to my facebook page and my twitter until $1 Million Dollars is raised for Alicia Keys’ “Keep A Child Alive” Charity. I will be joining celebs like Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Usher, Serena Williams, Elijah Wood, Jay Sean, Keys’ husband Swizz Beats, Khloe Kardashian, Willow and Jaden Smith.
Keep a Child Alive provides medication and first-class care to children with AIDS in Africa and India, as well as support for the millions of children orphaned by AIDS. You can get more information here or here. The organization is also selling T-shirts with bar codes, which will make a donation when scanned by a cell phone.
My last post to my facebook and twitter accounts will be made on Tuesday night… and I will not post anything until $1 Million dollars has been raised! It is my Digital Sacrifice! I encourage all of you to make a bold statement to the world and show everyone how powerful giving the gift of life really is by giving up your own, in a digital life sacrifice.
Visit Buylife.org on Wednesday to get the latest on stars’ digital deaths. And remember: Only you have the power to bring me back to life!!
Text “BUYLIFE” to 90999 or enter your mobile number to give $10.
This is my pledge, please join me!
