So, I started off my day pretty shitty. And about an hour into it I stated on Facebook that some pretty nasty blogs were going to go up today, so with that in mind… lets start off on my first issue with society!

Most of us working class folk do realize that the health system in this country is F’d up. And I have come to this conclusion more now then ever before because of my experience in dealing with it over the past week. And aside from it being a bad system in the country, lets just say that yet again, Massachusetts should really be its own country!! This state is so goddamn liberal it makes me sick!

So for those of you who aren’t from MA and aren’t familiar with how things work around here, let me give you the down low. On July 1st 2007, MA passed a law called the MA Mandated Health Insurance Law. It required ALL residents to obtain health insurance or they would be taxed. Now, I really liked having Mitt Romney as governor, he was WAY better then that Devil Patrick. And what he meant well when he was in office here. What’s pretty funny about this is the democrats hated him so much that they had to make an amendment to this law adding that low income citizens of MA could not be affected by this tax as they do not make enough to afford health insurance, and so they would be given state paid health insurance.

K so I don’t make that much money, I am single, and I pay … ready…. $350 a month for health insurance. EVERY YEAR for the past 3 years we have switched companies because there has been an increase on premiums. When I first started working with Chrysler 6 years ago, I paid $120 a month for health benefits. Now that this law is in effect in MA and I have to pay for all the low income people to have health insurance, everything on my end goes up! Thats BULLSHIT!

This morning really irked me… 1 week ago I had my tonsils removed. When I was discharged from the hospital, paper work in hand, not anywhere on that paper stated that I had a “follow up” appointment. Hmm… I wonder why? That’s odd, major surgery and no follow up?

6 days went by and I was not showing any signs of a smooth recovery. I called the Dr, explained what was happening and the receptionist made an appointment for me, she said “Can you come in tomorrow at 8:45am” I said yes I can do that.

Wouldn’t you know it, I get there at 8:30am and I get the receptionist who checks me in. While I am talking to her she cuts me off completely to answer the phone… ok… thats real professional, I was just F’n talking to you! While on the phone she then tells me that I have a “co-pay” for the visit!!!!

WHAT!??? WHY?? ISN’T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A FOLLOW UP BECAUSE I HAD SURGERY! WTF? As if my health insurance company didn’t already give you enough money. If people had to pay Drs with arms and legs everyone would be an amputee!

We argued for about 15 minutes before I handed over my credit card too pissed off and in pain to continue arguing. I sat back down and waited… I waited 45 minutes! Someone came out and brought me into an exam room…. and then I sat there for probably about an hour and 10 minutes. I started bitching to my mom sitting in the room with me.

The bitch receptionist hears me and comes in to tell me that the Dr. is on her way…. ON HER WAY?? ON HER WAY FROM WHAT?

ahahahaah she was on her way from surgery and breakfast!!!!!!

So idiot receptionist, why the F did you double book if you knew that the Dr. wouldn’t be in until after 10am, and why the hell did you make me get out of bed to sit here in agony, charge me $$ and then fucking wait because you dont know how to do you job!

Nonetheless the Dr. comes strolling on in with a COFFEE in her hand a nearly 2 & a half hours later!!!!!! WONDERFUL WE KNOW YOUR PRIORITIES! And trust me that the Dr KNEW she had patients waiting in her exam rooms…. she just didn’t give a shit, the insurance companies are already paying her so who cares, the patient isnt going to walk out…. ya think again! I almost did!

So… these money hungry Drs don’t give a rats ass about the people that keep their ass employed. K you are here at work because of ME, you live off of ME, you make your money from ME. If it weren’t for me, YOU wouldn’t have a JOB! I can’t get over how high these people praise themselves yet they treat the very people that are responsible for their lifestyle like SHIT.

WHY????

Because the government has allowed them to do so!!!!! HEY LETS ALL PAY FOR JOE SCHMO DOWN THE STREET WHO DRIVES A FERRARI AND COLLECTS WELFARE TO GO TO THE DOCTORS!
